What makes you proud?
My family, country, and friends make me proud.
I am the most proud of my family. Most of this pride comes from their willingness to support me when I am having a difficult time. If I were to not perform as well as expected on a test, my family would comfort me and help me improve from my mistakes which have led to the underperformance. This willingness to support and desire to help me improve makes me very proud that I was born in a family which can provide such support and care.
Although I am most proud of my family, I am also very proud of my country. I find much pride in my country’s willingness to stand up for the weak, it’s almost unlimited economic resources, and it’s great unique foundations and history. When I travel to a famous United States city like Washington DC or New York City, I often first notice the industrial scale of American cities. Nowhere in the places I have travelled abroad are there so many massive buildings, and the industrial might of the country I am from makes me very proud. I also notice that in these cities, there are markers of the history of the country. In Washington DC, the capitol shows the strongest republic since Rome, and the fact that I will be able to help contribute to this experiment makes me proud.
I am proud of my family because of their supportiveness and willingness to help me. My pride for my friends is for a very similar reason. I am proud of my friends mostly because of their supportiveness and emotional support, but also for their achievements that I have somewhat contributed to. When my friend does well on a test, I sometimes feel proud because I may have studied with him to get ready for this test. The feeling that this may have contributed to my friend’s success makes me proud because it feels as though a part of me has also accomplished this achievement.
